EARTHQUAKE ANNOUNCEMENT
As you may be aware, Christchurch suffered a strong earthquake at 4.30am on
Saturday 4th September.
The Executive of the ISAS Committee on advice from the local organising
committee which has consulted Christchurch Civil Defence manager and other
local authorities has decided that the conference should go ahead as
planned.
Delegates should be aware that after-shocks are being experienced and are
likely to continue for several weeks.
Public health advice to residents and visitors is to use bottled water or
boil drinking water because of concerns about possible contamination of
normal drinking supplies.

Zealand have been leaders in the development of aeromedical services; with
an enviable international reputation. AirMed 2011 needs papers of
scientific and international interest for a large and diverse audience. If

contributing to this major international meeting.
ISAS Scholarship
The ISAS Committee recently approved an exciting opportunity for ISAS
Members to apply for a professional development scholarship.
The ISAS Scholarship can be used to attend a relevant international/local
conference or to undertake a professional development programme.

It is with great sadness to announce that Gerhard Kugler died in Germany on
November 3rd, 2009. He suffered from advanced cancer.
Gerhard was the Honorary President of EHAC and the leader of the
development of helicopter emergency medical services in Germany and Europe.
